Pero ¿qué hay con todas esas presentaciones de PowerPoint? ¿No existe algo similar a youtube pero para presentaciones de diapositivas? Aparentemente sí. SlideShare es tal vez el sitio web más importante en este sentido, pues permite a los usuarios subir y compartir en público o en privado presentaciones de diapositivas de PowerPoint, documentos de Word, OpenOffice, PDF, etcétera. El sitio web fue originalmente destinado a ser usado por las empresas para compartir con más facilidad diapositivas entre los empleados, pero desde entonces se ha ampliado para convertirse también en un entretenimiento.
SlideShare también permite a sus usuarios tener la capacidad para evaluar, comentar, y compartir el contenido subido. Fue seleccionado, en el 2010, entre de los 10 mejores sitios del mundo para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje en línea. Tiene como principales competidores a Scribd , Issuu y Docstoc . Algunos de los usuarios notables de SlideShare incluyen a la Casa Blanca, la NASA, el Foro Económico Mundial, O’Reilly Media, Hewlett Packard e IBM. Para muchos estudiantes, Slideshare es muy util para hacer trabajos escolares. Además, los presentadores que usan Zipcasts no son capaces de controlar el flujo de la presentación, permitiendo a los espectadores navegar hacia atrás y adelante a través de las propias láminas.
Así pues, SlideShare es una interesante opción para compartir diapositivas de PowerPoint, aunque las otras mencionadas no desmerecen en posibilidades. Pero curiosamente, o se conoce poco el servicio o la gente prefiere mandar todos estos archivos directamente a sus contactos por alguna razón que me parece misteriosa.
